Explore the wonderful effects you can create using Ink resist and gouache in this one day workshop with mixed media artist Lesley Dearn.
The step by step process makes it suitable for everyone from the absolute beginner to advanced. We will cover elements of design and colour along with technique as you create your own ‘one off’ images.
While you will start each piece methodically and have a good degree of control, the end result is always slightly unpredictable so there’s a wonderful element of the surprise! The effect reminds me of woodcut printing or stained glass.
In the workshop, you’ll be able to make several different pieces, building up from basic images to more complex ones as the day goes on. I provide plenty of source material for inspiration, but please do bring along any simple images, sketches or photos you might want to try.
 
All materials and equipment included.
 
Tea and coffee making facilities are available but you are welcome to bring your own refreshments or pop to one of our local cafes or bakeries.
