ARTISTS / SUSAN STRANGE
The inspiration for my work comes from my interest in the interactions between different elements within the natural environment; I aim to capture the passing of time and ever changing movement over sea and landscape through texture, colour and the illusion of light, in particular the wonderful atmosphere of Ceredigion and the west coast.
I paint mainly in acrylic or oil, also watercolour, from onsite sketches as a starting point backed up by imagination and sensory experience.
I also work as a muralist and mosaicist. In addition, I have enjoyed running holiday and after school art and craft sessions for children and as a facilitator for adult art groups.
Through a desire to delve deeper into understanding nature and environment I have an Honours degree in Environmental Science and a master’s degree in Advanced Taxonomy and Biodiversity at Imperial College, London
