Based in the upper Swansea Valley on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, my work is influenced by what surrounds: light source, weather, colour, shade, and sound.  I’m intrigued by the opposites that create energy: the push and pull, permanence and change, movement, and stillness, light and dark, orange and blue.  My work is both representative and semi abstract, but always based on the physical, using actual references to generate thought and form.

I graduated in Fine Art in Cardiff in 1990. Having had a varied working career, including working in the adult community learning sector, I have in more recent years been focussing again on my own painting and rediscovering a passion I hope others will also enjoy.
