ART TEXTILES : Made in Britain

Art Textiles: Made in Britain are a group of textile artists from around the UK.

They were formed in 2013 with the aim to promote British art textiles, to introduce them to new audience, and to continually explore new and vibrant work both as individuals and as a group.

Every two years they hold a new themed exhibition which tours the country. Their new show: “Flight” started its tour in Kent and finishes its tour at Neath.

Eleven members of the group have responded to the theme of Flight in many different ways, considering mythical winged beasts, birds, angels, dandelion seeds, airline travel and more. Artists will be using a variety of techniques and materials, including felting, machine and hand embroidery, quilting and mixed media.

Exhibiting members are: Louise Baldwin, Jessica Grady, Cas Holmes, Christine Howell, Rosie James, Edwina Mackinnon, Sandra Meech, Sylvia Paul, Stephanie Redfern, Christine Restall, Sarah Waters.
