We have three exciting masterclasses happening during the Neath Arts Festival this year.

Each of the classes will take place at Neath Cricket club and are £30 each.

RICHARD BURTON PORTRAIT MASTERCLASS WITH BERT EVANS

Join artist Bert Evans for a day of portrait painting Welsh actor Richard Burton.

Using photographs of Richard Burton as reference, Bert will demonstrate his way of working and guide you through your own portrait painting.

LANDSCAPE PAINTING MASTERCLASS WITH MATT WILLIAMS

Join a hands-on oil painting workshop with Matt Williams, focused on creating atmosphere in landscape art.

Through expert guidance in atmospheric perspective, tonal variation, and careful colour choices you'll learn how to capture mood and depth in your landscapes.

Matt is a professional artist based near Abergavenny, exhibiting in galleries across Wales, and his work seeks to connect the beauty of the natural landscape of Wales with the lived human experience of being Welsh.

LIFE DRAWING MASTERCLASS WITH SIMON GOSS RCA

Simon Goss has been a life drawing enthusiast for over forty years. In his life drawing masterclass he will give an insight into his working method with soluble graphite and watercolour. He will do this with a series of short demonstrations to show how his approach varies in response to pose duration, with emphasis on warming up from shorter to longer poses. The artists attending will then be given the opportunity to draw from the model themselves as he observes and visits each one to give individual attention.
