Nic George is a professional artist and art educator, born and brought up in the village of Cilfrew near Neath. Nic leads one of his shares one of his favourite approaches for painting using only black and white. He has worked in Monochrome for many years, refining his stylised coastal scenes to produce work which is full of atmosphere and mood. 
 
Nic has developed a range techniques and approaches which explores and captures the sea and also examines mood, atmosphere and rhythm. This is great workshop to help unravel the potential of using a very limited pallet of paint which relates to a variety of other approaches such as black / white photography and drawing with charcoal, pencil and pen. 
 
Nic will not only be explaining and demonstrating his approach but will also be sharing his source material to help inspire you. This is one of Nic's most popular workshops to lead and it especially fits in well with the current exhibition at the Queen Street Gallery, the time of year when weather systems start rolling in which provide a feast of ideas for capturing moody days.
