ROSEMARY CASSIDY BUSWELL

Rosemary graduated in 1976 from what is now Manchester Metropolitan University with a B.A. (Hons.) in Woven Textiles, complemented by Fine Art as a supporting study. She earned her Master of Arts in Textiles in 1977. 

Throughout her diverse career, Rosemary has engaged in a wide range of creative fields. After completing her degree, she worked at The Peterloo Art Gallery in Manchester and subsequently lectured in Textile Design and Embroidery at Blackpool College of Art for four years. In 1982, she relocated to Singapore, where she taught Colour Theory and Graphics at The Nanyang Academy of Fine Art.

Having lived overseas for 34 years, Rosemary has taught art across different educational levels in England, Singapore, the USA, and France. She has also designed and facilitated creative courses and workshops for both adults and children. 

Her creative practice extends to theatrical projects, where she has designed and crafted costumes, wigs, sets, and props. Rosemary’s work has been exhibited internationally in textiles and paintings, and is held in private collections worldwide. She has contributed articles to ‘Embroidery’ magazine, and her designs have been featured in various publications and broadcast on BBC Television.

In 2016, Rosemary returned to live in England, continuing her artistic journey.
